This fitout won Rork Interiors the 2006 MBA Award for Fitout under $1,000,000.
A key feature of the fitout is the curved banquet seating and bulkhead including space to showcase pieces of Aboriginal art. The full commercial kitchen allows the cafe to offer a wide variety of food as well as corporate catering.
The 240m2 restaurant was fitted out during a challenging time of the year. The fit-out period was scheduled for the December/January period which are traditionally non construction periods in the retail industry in Australia, so Rork Interiors is proud of its success in completing the fit-out at this time.
The newly refurbished Scarborough House now contains one of Woden's most contemporary eateries. The design philosophy was to focus on the natural aspects of Indigenous culture with the design complimenting the space and design of the base building. The colour palette includes timber, slate and stone with elements of red.- red of aboriginal art and the Scarborough Building red.
